Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
from the United States. She was previously a television correspondent for ABC
News. She is most famous for her stint as cohost of Good Morning America
Weekend, 2014-2018, as well as host of The View, 2015-2018. Before this, she
co-anchored World News Now as well as America This Morning. After graduating,
she worked in several communications-related jobs including an operations
position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the lack of
opportunities for TV, she took the position of a radio sales representative.
Then she was able to work for one year as a production assistant at WKEF/WRGT
and later occasionally anchor and report. She was the weekend and weekday
sports anchors at WCPO TV, Cincinnati, from 2002 to 2005. She became a reporter
for sports at the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV from November 2005 to
December 2011, after her contract expired. In December 2011, she was hired by
ABC News which is the news division of ABC. On January 2, 2012 she debuted on
ABC News' World News Now and America This Morning. She was a correspondent as
well as substitute for Good Morning America during this period. She was then
promoted to a New York-based correspondent for all ABC News programs. The final
show of World News Now and America This Morning was January 22nd 2013. On
August 9, 2014, she was announced as the co-anchor of Good Morning America
Weekend, after the departure of Bianna Golodryga. Golodryga moved to Yahoo!
News. News. On August 3 in 2016, it was announced that they had renewed her
contract for its twentieth season. Season 21 also saw her renewed as co-host.
She was most often seen on episodes on Fridays in the 21st and 22nd seasons.
