Pollyanna McIntosh was born in Portugal and Colombia, but she returned to Scotland and began to perform on stage during The Edinburgh Festival. At 16 she relocated to London and soon got involved in indie filmmaking. (Her first pay-per-view on The Acid House was as an actor with Irvine Welsh (1998)). She's also participated in theater as both an actress as well as a director.
