Ayelet Zurer
Ayelet Zuer is an Israeli actress who
has received praise for her performances. She was born in Tel Aviv in 1967, she
was first noticed by Hollywood when she was given the role of Eric Bana's
spouse in the Oscar(r), nominated movie Munich (2005). Since moving to the
United States, Zurer has appeared in Studio films such as Sony Pictures'
Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid and William Hurt and Samuel Goldwyn's Fugitive
Pieces opposite Stephen Dillane, Paul Schrader's Adam Resurrected alongside
Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe. Ron Howard's Angeles and Demons is opposite Tom
Hanks. Darling companion Lawrence Kasdan's cast with Diane Keaton and Kevin
Kline, and Warner Bros. Man Of Steel with Russell Crow. Russell Crow, is Ron
Howard. Ewan McGregor was her co-filming partner in the film of Rodrigo Garces'
Last Days in Desert. Also, she waited for The Last Knights to be released by
Kazuaki Kriya, the Japanese director. As the Hostages' lead actress, she won
the Gold Nymph Award at the 54th Festival of Television of Monte-Carlo. Ayelet
received an Israeli Film And Television Academy Award in recognition of her
performance as Nina in the Tragedies. She also received nominations for her
performance in the features Only Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Apple
Field, Desperado, and Rutenberg. She was also honored with the Haifa
International Film Festival critic's award, and a star in Haifa's "film
Boulevard" for her international and regional achievements. Zurer won the
Israeli Television Academy Award, for her part in "In Treatment" the
critically loved series of TV which was later adapted for American TV by HBO.
In 2014, she was nominated for an apposite performance in the year's most
popular drama "Shtisel" which she won best actress in a drama for her
performance as a brilliant surgeon confronted with the life and death dilemma
in Hostages and was later sold to BBC4 and Canal Plus, and as an option to the
American ABC. The "face " of one of Israel's top women's fashion
brands- Golbary. She is a producer, writer, an illustrator for two adult books,
"Shorts" and the best seller "Badolina" by Gabi Nitazn.
Ayelet is currently working on number of her own projects in Israel and in the
US, expressing the desire to collaborate with directors from all over the world
she believes in joining with new directors and writers as well as established
ones.
