Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
began her career as a film and TV producer, producing films such as "The
New Card Sharks", (1978), and "Card Sharks" (1986). She went on
to produce projects such as Double Dare (1976), and has appeared on many television
shows such as E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl
(2001). Her most notable TV role was that of "Christine Sullivan" in
Night Court (1984). She was featured in the show's 156 episodes, from 1984 to
1992. Daughter of Marylee (Armstrong) Post, poet, and famous nuclear physical
scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 - April 7, 2015). Two
daughters, Katie Ross (born June 26 1987) and Daisy Ross (born on March 30 in
1990) were born in her second marriage to Michael A. Ross. Born in Palo Alto,
California, and grew up in Walnut Creek, California. Was a student at Las Lomas
High School in Walnut Creek, California; she was an athlete. She received her
Bachelor of Arts degree at Lewis & Clark College, Portland Oregon. She
was trick roping in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her ashes were
returned home to Michael A. Ross, her husband. She was a long-time Democrat.
Markie Post, who was three months removed from her 71st birthday date on
November 4 2021, passed away on August 7. She died 27 days after Charles
Robinson, her Night Court (1984), co-star, who died on the 11th of July 2021.
Although the two shows were not related, Night Court (1984), ended with
Christine Sullivan's character relocating to Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992)
was the first show to introduce Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character
in Hearts Afire (1992), and later she moved into a smaller town after her stint
in Washington DC.
